Hi everyone, i'm back again with another recipe, this time its a apple betty *fancy apple crumble to you and me. It was meant to have blackberries in it but we didn't have any so my version is plain apple.
Preheat the oven to gas 5
The apples i used were stewed and put in the freezer a few months ago, however to make everything from scratch you need:
1kg bramley apples peeled and cored
30g butter
2 handfuls of blackberries
For the crumb layer
125g soft white breadcrumbs
75g light brown sugar
75g butter
4 heaped tablespoons of golden syrup
Method
Cut the apples into large chunks, put them into a pan and toss with the butter and a couple of tablespoons of water over a medium heat. when they are soft but holding their shape add in the blackberries if you are using them.
Then tip into a baking dish.
